Éric Citerne

(1972), France

Eric Citerne is a painter born in 1972.

He eagerly absorbs all sources of inspiration: landscapes, still lifes, mythologies, art history, poetry, historical sites, assimilating them and making them his own, often on large canvases. His paintings are also the result of a physical creative process, where the flow of pure energy materializes on the canvas. A dialogue then ensues between his subjects and his personal history, materializing in paintings that can be figurative or not, bathed in colors or almost austere, but always imbued with this vital energy. He thus creates a body of work that transcends boundaries, offering an artistic experience rich in emotions, reflections, and formal experiments. Eric Citerne first exhibited in Paris in 1996 with the Marion Meyer Gallery. He has subsequently exhibited many times abroad (Dubai, Frankfurt, or Brussels) as well as in Paris, welcomed by the Guigon Gallery. In 2018, he presented his first solo exhibition at the Contemporary Art Center of L'Onde, in Vélizy-Villacoublay, titled "le Micro-onde."
