Galerie ELHABIBI is proud to present "And Beneath the Earth, Life," the first solo exhibition it devotes to painter Adélaïde Laurent-Bellue, from May 28 to July 11, 2026.

Following an initial collaboration in 2025, the gallery renews its confidence in the artist by offering her this first solo show. Through a series of new paintings and drawings, Adélaïde Laurent-Bellue explores the porous line between the real and the dreamlike, within a surrealist lineage that she reinvents with an almost meditative gentleness. At the heart of this new series, the underground world of the metro becomes an unexpected poetic stage, where everyday journeys take on vibrant colors.

As art historian Jessica Watson writes in the catalogue text, "nothing is more alive or luminous than what is at stake underground." An invitation to slow down, to observe, and to lose oneself in the labyrinth of an inner geography.
